"Cardinal," Poetry by Morgan Flodman

Writer: Calm Down MagazineCalm Down Magazine

Blizzards frost a meadow over

as snow stifles Gaea’s clover,

but in the light, a blending birch

displays the cardinal on its perch,

the crow of hope whose omens spur

the coming warmth to never err—

its stature humbly marks its plan,

though not unlike a holy man.
